High Country Salmon is a boutique 100% New Zealand family owned salmon farm, situated in the pristine waters of the Mackenzie District hydro canals just south of Twizel. We grow glacial mountain salmon (chinook), and sell it to customers instore, online, and at selected markets and events.
The constant flow of water throughout our farm makes our salmon “fitter” than sea-run salmon, resulting in a firmer flesh and cleaner taste. It is perfect for all dishes - sashimi, sushi, baked, fried, cured and smoked. Once filleted and vac-packed, our lean salmon freezes particularly well and will still be high quality even after months in the freezer.
We stock a wide range of fresh products including fillets, steaks, portions and wings, as well as smoked and cured salmon. Because we grow and process our salmon on-site, we have the shortest supply chain possible to provide you with the freshest salmon available. From glacier to plate – we’ll show you great salmon!
